Sailor Moon Elite
Chapter 5: New Story
by Janelle Coulter (Age: 27)
copyright 01-04-2003

Age Rating: 16 to 127

Katsuko slowly gathered her things at the end of the school day. It was time to meet with the moon princess, her guardians and her prince, tell them everything they wished to know. She stopped in the middle of picking up a notebook, thinking. Could she tell them everything? They would want to know about the Leaders, the Temple, about the Sailors Elite, her people, her planet, her family...her friends. Could she tell them everything?

"Suko watashi wa..."

Katsuko turned. Yaten stood leaning in the classroom doorway, his eyes wide with concern. "Suko watashi wa...." He was beside her in three strides. "What is wrong?"

"Oh, gin ke watshi wa," murmured Katsuko, her voice sad. "I need you now. I need your strength."

"Of course. You never need to ask."

She smiled then. "Arigato, Yaten kou." She sighed, then grabbed her bag. She took Yaten's hand as they walked away. "I have to tell them everything...."

The meeting was to be at Haruka and Michiru's. Yaten and Katsuko were the last to arrive, but no one complained. Usagi was anxious to hear what Katsuko's background was, where it was she came from.

"Katsuko-chan! Come sit here," she said gaily, patting the seat next to her and Mamoru.

"Thank you, milady." She sat down properly, crossing her legs at the ankles. "I just wish I knew where to start."

Ami patted her hand. "Why don't we ask the questions and you just answer?"

"Yeah, like how about where you're from?," began Makoto.

"Ah, an easy one." Katsuko smiled. "I am a Monarchian, princess Jupiter. My home planet is Planet Monarch, far away from this solar system, even from Kinmoku's system. I was Monarch's protector before coming under the leadership of the Leaders Elite, more specifically under the Wind Leader's ruling."

"The Leaders Elite....,"murmured Rei."How many are there?"

"There are four, princess Mars. They are all goddesses of the elements, wind, earth, fire and water."

"Not many outside the Elite know the Leaders or sometimes even of them," put in Haruka. "I've known Katsuko for a long time and I haven't laid eyes on them."

"Neither have we," added Seiya.

Minako sighed a breath of relief. If Yaten didn't know Katsuko's leader, then there was a chance he didn't know everything about her.

"Not many are privileged to be in the presence of the Leaders, it's true," said Katsuko. Her dark eyes flicked over to where Yaten sat and softly smiled. "Of course, if it were any other way, my Leader would have met my friends a long time ago."

Minako's relief disappeared. Yaten was lounging in a window seat, not watching anything, eyes closed, but listening to every word. She could see the quiet grin on his face as he heard Katsuko speak.

"So how many, uh, Sailor Elite are there?," Minako asked, trying to distract herself with new information.

"Eleven."

Michiru looked confused. "Eleven? But, Katsuko-chan, there are twelve, not eleven." She stopped and stared, a hand over her heart. "What..what are you saying?
Katsuko-chan? What has happened?"

Usagi looked over the silent warrior. Katsuko's head was down and she was gripping her skirt tightly in clenched fists. Usagi reached over, Mamoru next to her.

"Katsuko-chan?," he asked.

Her head of long midnight black came up and everyone was in shock to see tears brimming in her ebony eyes.
"Sailor Lynx is gone. Galaxia...killed her."

Michiru gasped and Haruka's own eyes filled. All three StarLights' mouths dropped in disbelief. The tears in Katsuko's eyes spilled over and she buried her face in her hands, sobbing. Minako began to rise from her seat, ready to comfort her, but Yaten was already there, holding her, whispering to her. Minako sunk back into her chair. Michiru was weeping openly.

"Oh, Mane!," she cried out.

"Mane?" The Inner Senshi were confused at the name.

"She was Katsuko's best friend," explained Yaten, stroking the grieving senshi's hair.

"Oh...." Makoto sadly watched Katsuko sob. "Oh, Katsuko-chan....I am so sorry."

Usagi sat in horror. To lose a friend, a best friend, was awful. She remembered when Galaxia took her friends and Mamo-chan away from her, but then they had been restored to her in the end. Then the thought came to her.

"Mamo-chan!," she exclaimed suddenly, making her beloved start. "Matte,Katsuko-chan! Wait a minute!"
She rushed over to her new friend who sat up at the exclamation. "Don't cry!," the small girl told her. "You can have your friend back, I'm sure of it. If she killed by Galaxia, then maybe she was restored too. Galaxia was only after Star Seeds. She tried to kill us too, but didn't." Mamoru nodded in agreement.

"That's right!," chimed in Rei. "When our Star Seeds were taken, our bodies died, but when Usagi renewed Galaxia, we got them back. Lynx..I mean, Mane, should have been restored as well."

Katsuko shook her head. "Milady, my lord, princess, I thank you for such kindness, but you had your Seeds returned to you. However, Galaxia didn't just take Mane's Seed." Fresh tears sprang to her eyes and Yaten gripped her tighter. "Her Star Seed was destroyed. That's something that can't be restored."

Usagi wanted to do something for the sweet well-mannered senshi, but what? None of them had the power to give her friend back. "I'm sorry you lost your friend, Katsuko-chan, but.....I'll be your friend...if you let me." Katsuko's eyes widened and Usagi plunged on, Mamoru as always by her side. "I don't know how much Mane meant to you, but my friends, everyone sitting here, mean everything to me. That includes you. If you want," she added quickly.

Katsuko laughed through her tears. "Oh, milady! My lord! Thank you!"

There was a sudden sob as Minako rushed forward to be the first to receive Katsuko warmly and graciously in her arms. Katsuko held on to her new friend with all she had and soon all of her new friends as well as they came towards her with tenderness and love. The newly come senshi was part of the family.

The Wind Leader Elite sat watching the tender heart wrenching scene unfold her, Sailors Hawk and Falcon on each side on her dais.
"See, my Guardians? Monarch is well, her wounds are healing," sighed the goddess.
Taka smiled, leaning on her winged spear. "Yes, my Leader. Our sister's heart is glad. Mine is as well."
"And mine," joined in Tori. She watched as Katsuko had her tears wiped away lovingly by the silver-haired Light. Be happy, my Guardian sister.Finally...be happy.
