by Eric Carrillo (Age: 28)
copyright 07-18-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

The treasure lies untouched.
The chest is opened, revealing the gold, and silver jewels.
Quietly it sits for all to see.
The forbidden treasure sits there, out of reach,
daring someone to attempt a sly thievery.
Forbidden treasure, with a mocking grin, it sits waiting.
Forbidden treasure, why are you forbidden?

Thanks for stopping by, and commenting. The treasure chest is many things. Goals, plans, things not yet accomplished, questions not yet answered, so much, it doesn't seem possible...

I say the treasure has temptation to it. Great poem.

Nice poem. I was wondering, is there a double meaning? "Chest" ... is that merely a treasure chest, or is it a chest of a person as well, with love being the forbidden treasure? Just the romantic in me searching for something that may not be there. *smiles* Thanks for being here, for posting, and for reading my work. Thanks even more for taking the time to comment. It means so much to me. *grin* Have a nice day.
