One day my dad and his friends thought they'd have some fun,
And take a trip to Florida, the land under the sun.
He was twelve that day,
When him and his friends decided the beach was were to play.
Many years went by,
And soon he had a family of five.
I was his baby girl,
He loved me more than anything in the world.
But at that beach he got sunburned,
And soon people learned.
It wasn't just a tan he recieved,
But death from skin cancer,we all greived.
But every night and day,
You used to pray.
Why'd it have to be you,
Now I'm only depressed and blue.
Even though it hurt me bad,
I never seemed really sad.
Not a tear was shed,
As I lie alone in bed.
I was only eight,
When you went to Heaven's gates.
Now I write this before I have to go to bed,
With sad and lonely thoughts crawling in my head.
And now you're gone,
Although our lives still go on.
