Queen of the Night
by Misty Montier
copyright 01-20-2003

Age Rating: 18 to 127

She moves in shadows
swinging her hips
dancing to tunes
turned out by the dj
twirling her arms
like a belly dancer
in slithery motions
beckoning other lost souls
mesmerized by rhythms
of the night.

They call her QUEEN
for she rules the dark
it is when she comes to life
doing things the heart desires
what the mind dare not
letting go
seen, yet not seen
touching, but not

words spoken
fall on deaf ears
drowned out by
the juke joint jumping
thumping walls, pulsating beats
and gyrating bodies
connected by sound.

ENCHANTRESS
do your thang, baby
any which way you can
never mind tomorrow
off in the distance
just another day
stay awhile longer

dance, and be merry
dance, and be content
let the rhythms free you
just dance, baby
dance.

Your descriptive style of writing is very well thought out. I have been able to place myself in all of the poems I have read so far. Good work.

I feel so very humbled by all the love, support, and reception to my work you all have shown me thus far. It certainly inspires me to continue writing, a passion I've been wanting to pursue full-heartedly. Thanks so much!

Well written Misty,,,and I liked the manner in which you created a vivid picture through motion,
increasing the tone as you moved along...

Yeah, I think I found me another bookmark author here at PnP. :-) Good stuff, Misty. You seem to have a knack for setting moods really well.
