Drinking plundered rum in a Burmese port, confiscated from a Spanish galleon
We, her Majesty's chosen sailors raise a mocking toast to pirates' gallantry, odium
" We've fifteen rounds to go mates, until there is no evidence and no taxation. "
Singing songs of oceanic shanties, every line a sweet intoxication
Thin-reeded cannula, its pointed prick inserts an onus of despair, bitter seasonings
Thick black night descends, I'm stupified, I contemplate dark treasonings
Delerious dreams are pain embedded, Neptune's seafoam angels burning caustic incense
Sea-quake consummation, Davy Jones a'calling, deliciously intense
I wake aboard Picara Temptress, she flies the mated skull and crossbones flag
Her dirty deeds known far and wide, Jolly Roger's cunning hag
Fata Morgana setting sail to Cebu Island from the coast of Spanish Main
Scarlet-lipped, black-hearted beauty, rapier sharp, honed in corona's flame
" T'is ye who stole me kegs of rum, drank of me pirate's wealth
Ye'd best fall to yer knobby knees, start praying for yer life's good health! "
Quickly stripped down to my waist, arms tied to mizzen's central mast
Leather belt whips through the air, 20 stripes, red blood flowing fast
Screams of torment pierce the night, open wounds are rubbed with salt
" Swear yer pirate's bonded pledge, then seal it with me captain's malt! "
I know the wooden plank awaits me, if I even dare refuse
With trembling hand and upraised arm, I drink the briney brew
" Yer pirate's name is chose, mate. " And she slaps me on the back.
" Burmese Barracuda. " She points to unused labels on the empty rummer's rack.
Bright morning comes too early, hungover from my beastly night
" Avast ye hearty sailors, Cebu Island's in me sights! "
I'm pulled up by my scruffy neck, I see sparkling diamonds in the captain's eyes
" Invites to the gov'ner's manse, mate, a double dagger of complete surprise!
And it's yo ho ho, but no bottles of rum, me men are fast dis-heartened
Tonight's the time fer coughing up yer dues, t'is only then that ye'll be pardoned! "
It takes a day of sharp manuevers to safely harbor in a hidden bay
I'm dressed in gentleman's elegance, we're swiftly rowed up to the cay
" Yer 'spected round the front, mate, don't give me pause fer disappointment. "
The doorman smiles, checks off my name, " This way for your appointment. "
The very air is festive, I'm formulating plans for quick escape
Until I see the island Governor, his arm around Morgana draped
Behind them stands the raiding party, dressed in dandied clothing, just like me
" Eat, drink, and be merry mates, yer captain's celebratin', a wedding of economy! "
Caught offguard, but plainly figuring, I'm to play the role, best man
The Governor motions me aside, " T'is fittin' that you'll be me only daughter's husband! "
The knot is quickly tied, just before the Governor's house is stormed
By Admiral Sylvania and his underlings, officer's close-knit quorum
" So you're the lucky devil, who stole my lover's heart
Sir, I'll meet you with the rising sun, duel to the death, then hastily depart! "
They're not above some hard night's drinking, kegs of Burmese Barracuda
" Take illegal bounty as me mannered callin' card, Fata Morgana can't be considered rude! "
We transfer finest gold dubloons, a treasure chest in fortune's jewels
To Picara Temptress, sailing westward in the misty night, not abiding by the royal rules
Troubadors now sing our fame, we're known both far and near
Morgana and her loyal pirate mate, adventurous buccaneers
