Transmutation of the Soul
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 01-21-2003

Age Rating: 18 to 127

  Transmutation of the Soul

Lofting on hot thermals - Arizona plains
I’m a red-tailed hawk now, hunting for my prey
I glide on salt-tang breezes over San Francisco Bay
I’m a seagull - simply living for the day

Soaring o’er the Rockies - I’m an eagle see?
And I’m flying ever higher ‘cause I’m free
Not a worry, not a care up here to bother me
Indeed, no other place I’d rather be

Give my soul a simpler spirit
Let me live a simpler life
Let me know just how it feels to smile inside!

Let me see with eyes not jaundiced
Let me see a simpler life
Let me fly away from avarice and pride!

In the Amazon’s rainforests – I’m a jungle bird
I am scarlet, I am green - I’m blue and gold
No diatribes, no curses – not a hateful word
In the wilderness no lies that will be told

Will I ever fly - escape this realm under the Sun?
Will I join with Gabriel or Lucifer?
Will I simply turn to dust – oh, God! Will everyone?
An Eternity of dreams – is this my curse?

Give my soul a simpler spirit
Let me live a simpler life
Let me know just how it feels to smile inside!

Let me see with eyes not jaundiced
Let me see a simpler life
Let me leave behind all avarice and pride!

Fly free, soar with me, for the best
is yet to be,
Great work here.

I love a hyppie life myself but then today's Nature it's full of civilization where we must abide and then the only solution is to escape in dreams ...
