Sailor Moon Elite 2
Chapter 6: Fear
by Janelle Coulter (Age: 27)
copyright 01-30-2003

Age Rating: 16 to 127

Rei and Usagi ran towards the Lights' residence, ready for another training session, but were in danger of being late.

"I can not believe you, Usagi-chan. How could you be at the arcade at a time like this?," asked Rei in disbelief.

"Gomen, Rei-chan. I thought I had time for a quick game. I hadn't been to see Motoki in so long," panted Usagi. She hated running.

"Time for a quick game," scoffed Rei. "Or two! Or three!" She stopped and faced Usagi, hands on her hips, raven hair billowing. "Come on, Usagi-chan. We have to be more focused. We have to be ready for anything."

Usagi sighed heavily. "You're right."

They began walking again, but suddenly were startled by the bushes nearby rustling. Both girls turned and were surprised to see two yellow feral eyes glaring at them from within the leaves. Then with another rustle it was again. Without hesitation, Rei transformed into Sailor Mars and ran towards the bushes in pursuit.

"Usagi-chan! Run! Tell Katsuko-chan and the others what happened!"

"What? Rei-chan! Where are you going?"

"I'm going after it! Go get help! Now!"

Usagi stood, torn between going after her rapidly disappearing friend and getting help. Finally she turned on her heel and fled down the street, hurrying towards the training grounds. reaching the house, she burst through the front doors, flew through room after room, past a very surprised princess, and skidded to a stop only when she reached the backyard.

"Katsuko-chan! Katsuko-chan, help! Please!"

"Odango?" Seiya turned in alarm at her agitated state.

Katsuko, in the middle of spear practice with Ami, stopped suddenly at the outburst.

"Milady? Milady!" She and Seiya reached Usagi's side at the same time, both holding her. Katsuko's anxiety returned at the sight of the blatant fear on her face. "Milady, what's wrong?"

"Yes, odango. Tell us," encouraged Seiya.

"It's Rei-chan! We were on our way here when we saw these eyes in some bushes. Rei-chan went after it!"

Katsuko's face hardened. "Show us."
