My Wifes 50th Birthday, a greeting not a story.
by Walter Jones (Age: 62)
copyright 01-31-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Authors note:
In the early years of my marriage, I spent hours writing poetry to my wife. As time marched on, I tried to find the perfect card, most fell far short, but the glitter of Hallmark previaled. On my wife celebrating 50 years, I sat down with my boys and tried to put into words how we felt about her. I share this with you. Mostly as tribute to her but even more as a reality statement of life.

Today like most days we look for you and you are there. God has found it in his infinite wisdom to keep you near us. To seal us together as a family. You are the glue that binds us together. Each of us depends on you for his own reason. The men in your life, the ones that place you not on a throne, but in their hearts. Love is too small a word to convey what we feel for you, yet each of us uses that word to try and tell you how we feel. We know that you see each of us differently and we also know that there are times we let you down. It is not because we do not love you, rather it is because our hearts are strong, but our bodies are weak . It is true that in some ways we are selfish creatures, but we know that you forgive us. We know that you see beyond the small forget full things we do. You know we do not intend to cause you pain or suffering, hurt feelings, we would never want to let you down. Sometimes we just do, but the next day.
You are there for us and tell us everything is okay.

Love Walt & Boys

My family would not be able to hold up without my mom!
I love her dearly, and wouldn't give her up for anything, even though she can get annoying sometime :) !
Your wife must really appreciate this greeting!

Women love because they understand how hard you try, and do not expect you to be more than you are. The fact that you love them makes it worthwhile, being appreciated is likely the best gift we can get, and having it written as a tribute makes it something concrete to cherish.

Same here. My wife is the backbone of the family. She's also the brains of this outfit.
I write her poetry from time to time. She deserves those accolades.
