Emerald Pool
by Melissa Jung (Age: 36)
copyright 02-03-2003

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Gazing at that silver reflective surface.
Artfully applying pigments with a purpose.
Focus trades between near and far.
Dual glistening pools appear to be distant stars.

Deeper I am pulled by my own stare.
Swimming in the single pair.
At this moment, these two bring a mystic clarity.
Wondering what knowledge they are about to bare to me?

Briefly, the surface surrounding the oasis becomes the most beautiful I've seen.
Never before did I understand what others glean.
Hold that fix on green liquid orbs.

Two translucent marbles, embedded in life's core.
With a blink, my concentration is lost.
I've seen a sight that has no measurable cost.

In a day or so, the pools turn back to blue.
No less captivating than the emerald two.
Just try to remember what I have seen...
Like a dream.
Let me recall the beauty of the green.

Melissa, seems as if PnP authors can see the writer in you, even if you can't. This poem is outstanding.
