Awakening out of winter's slumber,
flowers shoot out of the earth,
their buds jutting out of petals,
playing a game of hide-and-seek.
Birds perched in trees hum merry songs,
greeting spring with infamous words of rejoice,
their words echoing in my ears,
lulling me from morning dreams.
Tempted by the smell of honeysuckle,
and the sweetness of sound,
I arise from bed, ready to envelop myself
in the ecstasy of spring.
