Today really made me think...Today many of my close friends were having a hard time, and it reminded me of how mortal we really are. People get hurt by things that seem like the world one moment and nothing the next. Everything can be turned into something good or something bad.
Lately in U.S. History we've been shown horrific imagery and told depressing tales of our past. We watch movies about the terrible things that people went through, just to get where we are today. For example: I'm an anti-racist *Someone who is NOT racist, in fact i'm extremely pained by the word*, I'm also completely white; I am almost completely Irish, and I'm also Scotish, Dutch, German, English, and French, but that doesn't give anyone the right to assume that I would be intolerant of other races. And in reality, everyone is the same race, we are ONE race! Just because I'm white doesn't mean that I would join KKK or some other disgusting clan, yet, it doesn't mean that I would wish pain on them either.
People choose the way they live their lives, and if someone chooses to live ignorantly or painfully, it's their own will that chooses that path. But why? Why do people feel that our appearance is the important and most respected feature of a human-being? What I wish I knew was, how did we white people get to the top and learn to boss others around? Was it because other cultures in history thought that our pale eyes and skin was of the gods? There are endless amounts of questions that need answering, that's why it can be so hard. Because so many people choose to live their lives trying to gain controll, and power over everybody else. I suppose that's why we're called a "Race", because everyone feels that they have to get to the end before the other ... we all want to win...
*Well that was my dumb rant of the day!*
