DEAR GRANDPAP,
You always spoke of life
and how never to be afraid,
Of what will happen when it does
on our judgement day.
For now you're gone and up above
on a cloud in a clear blue sky,
For although you're gone in body
you're soul will never die.
Our memories of you will live on and on
of things we've done in the past,
Such wonderful things shared in by gone days
yes until we're together at last.
"You left us Grandma, Mom, and Aunt Barb
just know you left them in good hands,"
For they have all of us who care
they are three queens in a castle of sand.
Oh, Grandpap, we loved you dearly
we do miss you so very much,
We all want to be with you someday
but know that we needn't rush.
Because even though you're gone away
you'll never be gone in heart,
Until we meet on judgement day
our souls will never part.
So Grandpap, hold close all of us
like you always did before,
Because now your, God's special helper
to meet us at the golden door.
Oh yes, Grandpap, one more thing
have you run into Grandpap B?
For if you do see him one day, please
give him a hug and kiss for me.
For someday it will be my turn
and I promise, I'll not be afraid,
Because I'm taking you're word
to "Trust in God," on judgement day!.
