Time, you give me points to ponder,
When I was young I used to wander,
Along the paths so lush and green,
Drinking in all of the yet unseen.
Softness flowing all around,
Still nary making a sound,
Sweet air fills my lungs,
Oh how wonderful it is to be young.
Time, you give me points to ponder,
No longer those same trails I wander,
The paths are now paved,
Making me long for nature to be saved.
Loudness encloses all around,
Still deafening the sound,
Smog filled air fills my lungs,
Oh how I wish I were still young.
Time, you give me points to ponder,
In the future how I’ll wander,
Past the roads that once were paved,
Wondering what is left to save.
Softness flowing all around,
Somehow I’m not sure if there is sound,
Once again sweet air fills my lungs,
I know it will remind me of when I was young.
