Soft-dinted furrows mark the path
since first her tiny feet began
adjusting to their awkward pace.
She flailed at passing decades, tripped
through disenchanted escapades
that traced the turbulence of growth.
But now she stares with muted eyes
at frozen whiteness glaring from
the curtains by her rigid bed;
she hears a murmur, like the call
of placid waters, lapping. Soon
she'll rest her head upon goodbye.
A promise rides the river's flow,
she'll sink within its drift; alone,
and miles away from yesterday.

sometimes time seems to stand still, and at others it just flies by! I can close my eyes and see yesterday as if it were in front of my face. And at others, it is miles away. *sigh* Time... what a concept, eh? And the mind only makes it more confusing!
