Naked - A Humorous Sonnet

  Naked - A Humorous Sonnet
Picture Credits:

I wrote this sonnet-like ditty some time back. Recently I resurrected it and edited it a bit. It was intended to have a look at one flavor of the human psyche, at least as it lurks in some of us. I needed to interject a little humor into my recent batch of macabre, somber and often manic-depressive endeavors. Smiles to all you jaybirds. LOL!
Lyle

Naked

There is nothing quite like being naked;
So exciting because somebody might see.
Naughty to be nude in certain places,
‘Though that is how the body’s meant to be.

The Creator dressed us up in our own skin;
Eve and Adam were the first to be revealed.
Until that Serpent spoiled things - raw was in!
Now some fashions hide our flesh from head to heels.

It’s sexy to be naked when forbidden,
Especially when we might be caught – all bare!
Audience a turn-on if they’re hidden,
But if we’re with a lover we don’t care.

“Naked as a jay bird” – what an odd remark!
Does he know he’s nude - streak shrieking from the park?

This poem made me wonder if all those diplomats at the UN had to see eaach other naked, maybe they would realize that they are all the same species and would appreciate each other more. Good write.
