Her eyes hold wisdom,
Forged in the fires of living;
Passion, suffering, laughter, death, and life.
Though her body bends
With the burden of time and age,
Her face glows with a timeless, illuminating joy.
Peace halos her face,
Wiping away the earthly sorrows
Of years, days, and moments passed away.
Her simple contentment
Assures her own of their place
And draws wanderers into her waiting arms.
She listens. She weeps.
She loves so deeply
That passersby feel the warmth of it at her door.
She possesses the look of Heaven
Where her quiet heart rests
And her spirit waits for the coming call.
God is her Father and Friend;
Death, only a twilight step
Into a dazzling, beautiful, and ageless eternity.
Her life’s love envelops all:
In the hearts changed, in lives restored,
And in those awaiting the call of the saints.
