For years, I have tried
to hide pain inside
of me.
Call it stubborn pride.
My pain, I've denied
to free.
Strong on the outside
my heart truly cried
a sea.

Nice short and sweet piece of poetry. I had to read it twice before I caught the rhyme scheme. Tricky! But very nice. Nice theme, rhyme scheme, mood pounced in the last two lines. The first three lines in each stanza flowed musically, then brought us up short with the fourth line! I like poetry which appeals to the intellectual sense of perception. And this does. I shall find more of your work to read.
I really identify with your work, and know your proud of this one. Sometimes I seem to write a novel to get a thought across. You have drawn a vivid image of what so many feel and deal with...part of our human and spiritual journey...with just a few words....wonderful
