Dickensen-esque Romance Poem
by Andrea Jeanette DiGiantomasso (Age: 22)
copyright 11-09-2003

Age Rating: 16 to 127

I feel your Touch on me
My pain disappears
Like Snowflakes falling upon
A burning Fire
Burning--like my Passions--
Like my desire for your arms
For your heartbeat which,
In its pulsing,
Drums away all my thoughts
Leaves me--and only me--
Leaves me in a trance
Unthinking. Unwilling.
Unmoved by the Fires of Hell
Rising up around Me.
I only want you and your eyes
Gently sweeping over my skin
Carressing in their steel blue
A Gaze-- I pray-- Unbroken.
Your Fingers dance
O'er my body--undiscovered--
Pulling strands of Hair from my eyes
Brushing my Lips... A Temptation.
Never-ceasing Kisses across me
On my Cheeks, my Neck, my Fingers
Finally my Lips are greeted
Enchanted I lay
You surrond me in your Warmth
A sheild of Desire--
Bonds never to be broken,
By any mortal Hands
Is it possible-- nay is it true?--
That the Gods high atop Mount Olympus
Gaze upon You and me
And envy your Lips Ambrosia?
For Aphrodite ne'er was as sweet
And Persephone--a second choice--
Hera spawned infidelity
But You and I are unaffected
The World beyond Us may try--
In Its Envy to break us
To part Us
But we will never let that be!
For you and I must remain
As Lovers, so Divine,
So oursleves! that we might
Be for Eternity...
And farther still.
