Souvenirs

Dark Angel came to take him home,
my hollow heart echoes ~ alone
He was so small this child of three,
now review all that is left for me,.

One small black and white kitten,
one left handed dark red mitten.

A brown bear made of cotton.
lost in the yard and forgotten.

A silver chain with no polish,
wear and tear had demolished.

Five marbles found in a pocket,
a never flown a bright red rocket.

Books and books all of them read,
most of them found under the bed.

A granite rock, a blue bird feather,
in a shoebox, together ~ forever.

What finally brought me to my knees
was finding his dirty dungarees.

Everytime I read a poem of yours I am truly touched this was beautiful and sad. You always make the words dance off the page at the reader,
like some magical new waltz never before performed.
