For You
by Jessalyn Hamby (Age: 22)

I am lost again in another
All in it for you my mother
You ripped me from the inside
The inside of my soul
Always trying to change who I am
Like you really give a damn
Never liked me for me
Always wanted me to be
Somebody else
So you ripped me
From the inside
The inside of my soul
Well what would you think of me now
If I was six feet in the ground
I bet you still wouldn't care
If I wasn't there
I know were always ashamed
That I could never be tamed
So you rip
From the inside
The inside of my soul
But I wish you could see
Just who I could be
But you won't open your eye's
And refuse my cries
Then you rip from the inside
The inside of my soul
You wanted to see me fail
Thought I would bail
Screw that...
You'll never get the chance
My priorites will only enhance
Scars from lacerations
All your dictations
Loveless day by day
But I was strong I acted like I was okay
But even after that
You still ripped me
From the inside
The inside of my soul
But I'm achieving my goals
And this is my life and who I am
I don't give a damn
To what you think of me
Cause this is who I'm gonna be
