Liar!!
by Mary -BrytEyz- Ball (Age: 38)

Age Rating: 16 to 127

I know, the rhyming's off and the timing is too,
but this is just a quick collection of thoughts for you.

Damn you! Liar! You filthy liar!!!
You think you can just cast me aside?!?
Think you can offer me to join you
And then take me along for the ride?
It all seems so easy, doesn't it?
After all, this IS a throw away nation,
This IS the land of wastefulness,
ISN'T it?!
We offend the world on most vacations.
USE IT UP, AND THROW IT OUT...
Isn’t that how it goes?
No wonder why people hate Americans.
We're thoughtless and everyone knows it.

But not me, I can't hate... not even you.
After all the pain and hurt I feel
After all this, I can't even hate you.
Gambling with love, such a deal.
So, this is how it ends then.
Just like everyone said it would.
It's my own fault - really it is.
I didn't mind when I knew I should.
I stubbornly refused to listen.
I tenaciously clung to the dreams
But don't ever believe reverie lies,
Things aren't always what they seem.

Stupid foolish romanticism!!!
What good did it ever do me?
And optimism too for that matter.
All they promise never's for free.
To hell with them both.
I don't need them, nobody does.
Positive notions make me sick!
Disguising the truth of whatever was.
Just carrots on a stick,
Dangling dreams out to dry.
Just a perfect tease that ends
with burning tears in your eyes.

I just submitted a poem titled, "Liar". I get my agressions out when I write too, it's one of my f avorite things about poetry. Did you know zut is French for damn? :) You might want to make this 10+, because of the curse word. Minor curse word, but all the same... All pain fades, but if you're hopeless with love you don't let go and it bites you in the @$$ again down the road... Anyway, this is a good piece and I can agree with Tara how everything fell into place at the end. Good work Mary! Keep writing!

I think this is great. You really got rid of your anger and expressed it and everything eventually fell into place. Excellent!
