To the Soldiers
by Debra Rose (Age: 21)
copyright 04-14-2003

Age Rating: 10 to 127

this is dedicated to my best friend and cousin, who fights right now for freedom for the tortured to save hostages of a demented regime.

To pass the time we softly pray,
As we sit in fear and quietly wait,
Hoping somehow it will be okay,
That they will all return safe to us someday.

Famous, dear soldiers, hold strong our dear heroes
Your names are remembered, your sacrifice our saviour
From maintenance to cook, to soldiers with haloes
You defend all our nations, you are the true dreamer.

We fumble through a picture or two,
Just hoping they spoke their last words true
That it was not a final adieu,
That they swore, our soldiers of sweet virtue

Hold strong, dear soldiers, please dry your eyes
Your souls are the bravest, you're strength is so high
From power to sadness, to anger filled sighs,
With heaven beside you, always freedom be supplied.

Nice expression and genuine respect for our fighting forces. Well done.
