On Wednesday March 19 2003, I participated in the Genocide Awareness Project at my university. This display attempts to make people really think about abortion through the use of large graphic signs depicting aborted fetuses alongside other victims of genocide.

Abortion can be seen as an act of genocide because it is the systematic destruction of a group of people deemed unwanted. Furthermore, the unborn are not considered human, and neither were/are other victims of genocide. Most shocking, while Hitler's concentration camps destroyed 6 million lives, abortion takes millions of lives every year.

In many places, it is legal to abort up until the day of birth, even though many of these children are capable of surviving outside of the womb. However, even at 10 weeks, a fetus is recognizably human -- he or she has arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, toes...

Many will argue that in the case of rape abortion is compassionate because the child will be a constant reminder of the rape. But why should we punish an innocent baby for his or her father's actions? Besides, there are many people lined up and waiting to adopt.

Why is it legal to kill a child merely because he or she hasn't been born? The fetus is not part of the mother's body -- they have separate circulatory systems and may have different blood types. Besides, would you allow a friend to cut off her arm for no reason?

Abortion is often marketed as 'choice.' But whose choice is it? The one who is most affected has no choice.

You r right no one just have abortion just because the infant reminds them what happen. They just put him/her up adopation instead so she/he may have a chance at having a good home.
