Futuristic Forest by Nancy Pawley

Moving ahead at terminal velocity, proceeding
Through the dispassionate futuristic forest
My fire-crossed time-worn nerves tingle

My full-open responsive ears
Listen attentively, paying close attention
Hearing widespread rumors of discontent

Big Brother, a shapeless massive menace
Looms large and threatening
He is saturnine, morose, gloomy by nature

His mind conceals a trapdoor
A hidden agenda masks his soul-less unfeeling voice
His electro-charged
Blue-flamed idle chitchat
Drips like red-hot liquid lava
In icy echoes, rippling sound waves
Shrieking silence, offerings of isolation

He spews forth scornful, bemused contempt
Reckless maddened rumblings
Foolish absurd phraseology

He sends forth his brusque
Predatory, police-state wolves
They patrol your innermost thoughts
Seeking to dominate and repress
With camouflaged music of hurdy-gurdy hypocrisy

They personify inaccurate out dated lie detectors
Falsehoods turned to truth
They offer no insightful perceptions
They lack scruples and ethical principles
No need for friendliness or warmth

They rob and steal, capture unlawfully
Our glorious uncultivated wilderness sections
In our unordered uncommon lives

Their socially unacceptable
Morally wrong plunder
Results in blasphemous bloodshed
On blood-stained pathways and interstate highways

Fetid Fate spills
Sheds storm-shadows and nightshades
On haunting hazardous battlefields

Wartime river-ribbon fast approaches
Laps at Heartache's sorrowful glinting shoreline
Changes break
Time happens
