I have blue eyes, like my mama,
and my bright smile
can charm my daddy into giving me his heart.
My laughter makes my mama giggle
and my words, though few,
are growing in number with each passing day.
Almond-shaped eyes show my difference-
and a little, flat nose too,
but my soul looks just the same as anyone's.
My heart needs the magic touch of love.
My spirit searches for Heaven:
My Creator is the reason for my life and living.
I learn slowly, but grasp many new ideas,
concepts, and emotions so that
my imagination will grow as big as my sister's.
I have almond eyes, but I still see,
just like any other girl:
hatred, love, joy, prejudice and the magic of snowfall.
Many people love the girl I am,
because of my smile,
my hugs, and my happiness in who I am.
I can become anything, and dream,
just like any other girl.
So my future glows bright with wonder and hope.
I am a gift, like every child:
a box of possibilities
waiting to be opened and shared with the world.
I have almond eyes, but love to share,
places to imagine,
dreams to dream, and hope just like any other girl.
