Cape Jasmine chants her lonesome beauty, salt-encrusted rockhard movements
As pounding waves sculpt lacy foam into thinly twisted filigree
Weekday winter beach deserted, no jesting summer carnival crowds
Calvados in my silver flask, sweet apple brandy keeps cold spirits warm
I sit astride a prancing pony, but the carousel is standing still
Merry mid-life crisis going round in circles, getting nowhere fast
Hall of mirrors shows distorted face, a body of malignancy
Reflected image can't portray just who I am, hidden deep inside
Curio shop no longer curious, grey weathered boards united in a solid front
Is this what my life has come to..tired, old, and best forgotten
It's better not to pose unanswerable questions, this heart's impulse is to live
Not in con dolare sadness, but with vigor to the max, happiness con brio
