Dove in the Mind’s Eye
She dwells there with me in my mind’s sad eye
And as in songs and sonnets – in my heart;
But not as when poor poets tritely try
To emulate and steal another’s part.
Inside she dances while her wan smiles sear;
I see her spinning ‘round – relish the glow.
I breathe her out - I breathe her in, so dear;
Aware of her pure presence head to toe.
Because she is so close - how can I miss her?
Our hearts are merged, Oh, why then do I cry?
My lips do hunger - how they bleed to kiss her.
My arms do reach - but shall they touch the sky?
I’ll sing my praises for this rarest love
And rail because I fear I’ll lose the dove.

Oh you make me crying… I feel the true inside your words and feelings. You can’t hide a deep love, tenderness and sadness… Your poem brings a wonderful hope. Thank you for beautiful minutes of my reading. I have one poem about my Dove too. But my Dove is another…
