Over magic mountains the eagle flies,
descending down on unsuspecting prey.
She observes her victim with intense eyes,
before she thieves its gasping breath away.
Mighty predator, queen of the blue sky,
her savage internal hunger now filled.
The echo shrieks back her victory cry,
as she consumes the sweet warm blood she's spilled.
Atop a rocky fortress lies her nest,
where her young ones impatiently await.
Dependent on the flesh she will digest,
her successful hunt assuring their fate.
Leaving circling vultures the remains,
she lifts her mighty wings and proudly soars.
Elevating across snow covered plains,
to retire until hunger craves once more.
