My Heart

My heart has shattered to pieces,
It’s spread all over the floor,
I see the smirk on their faces,
And know that ‘we’ are no more.

But the end is just the beginning,
I’m going to come back to life,
And when I do just that, boy, oh
I’ll leave you with nothing but strife.

You’ve attempted to break my spirit,
And failed at that miserably,
No, I don’t want to hear it,
Just go away and leave me be.

I’ve found somebody else and,
We’ve been together for three years now,
All of your memories, oh, how they’ve been washed away,
Like the ocean lapping at the sand, I brush them off of me,
And go on with my day.
