He Arose
by Janet Owenby
copyright 04-16-2003

Age Rating: 4 to 127

Jesus corpse lay tattered and torn,
in the old tomb of granite stone.
Forehead bleeding from the crown's thorn,
rusty nails drove through flesh and bone.

Mary went to visit that day,
Jesus had seemed to disappear.
The huge stone had been rolled away,
and Mary receded in fear.

A vision appeared to explain,
His destiny had been fulfilled.
Jesus Christ had not died in vane,
and His death tomb had been unsealed.

He explored the depths of a grave,
but His eternal spirit glows.
His last breath He so freely gave,
but now Jesus Christ has arose.
