A Costly Love

Innocence betrayed with a single kiss.
Words full of death, friends reject and dismiss.
Abyss of eternal hatred,
wrapped in a human heart.

Loud cries for mock justice surround the Just.
Beaten by those who were formed from the dust.
The model of love allowing
his heart to be broken.

Cold nails rip through skin followed by pain's cry.
Angels weep tears, darkness consumes the sky.
Nothing returned for the hatred
but everlasting love.

The curse lays broken, unlike any bone.
He calls, "It is finished" and waits for home.
Breath gone, death ended, only by
the Son of God above.
