I'm cloaked in midnight darkness
but live only in light.
I dance in brightest sunshine
and sleep throughout the night.

I never wander from you
except in darkened space,
but in the morning's brightness
I'll follow you each place.

I jump, run or sit with you.
I'm closer than a friend.
And only when night-time falls
my companionship ends.

Lift your arms and I raise mine.
I'll do all things you do.
By your side most anytime.
When lights go out I'm through.
