A little birdie told you
That I love you
And a little birdie told me
That you love me too
…
What do we need birdies for?
Why can’t we simply talk anymore?
Fairytales need birds, but do we?
No!
If you love me, then just tell me so.
What’s up with all this subterfuge?
Why have silly messengers
Become shy romance's refuge?
We could tell each other anything
But now we're like quivering bunnies
Who can't meet without one of us blushing.
So, birdies, up for one more spin?
Tell him that I'm scared of him.
Don't ask me why,
'Cause I don't know.
Ask him to come to me
Make a show of bravery.
This farce of love has got to go.
Bye now, birdies, you're out of work.
Go find someone new.
Maybe they'll have a job for you.
