The Cheerful Spirit (Dedicated to Lomione)
by Riley M. (Age: 16)
copyright 04-29-2003

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Dedicated to my long lost kitty Lomione, the brother of Feanor

You take my worries away,
As I stroke your fur so fair,
Sometimes you run astray,
But I can feel your presence anywhere.

Who knew a cat could be so kind,
So loving and carefree,
Your were my precious find,
A cheerful spirit, my guarantee.

I thought we would live our lives together,
And die at each others side,
I thought you would be at my aid forever,
I was wrong for I knew you had died.

One evening you went to wander as you like,
Time passed, and you were never found,
Were there grudges of dislike?
I looked everywhere for you, but not a sound.

Sometimes I imagine your furry body,
Cuddled into a bundle tight,
I never gave you blame, or thought you naughty,
For I knew there was an accident that night.

So as I sit here thinking of you,
I'll remember the good times I treasure,
You are that loving spirit who,
Will stay at my side forever.

You took my worries away,
As I stroked your fur so fair,
You may have passed away,
But I can still feel your presence anywhere.

Love the poem Riley! Its wonderfull. I feel bad for your cat. They are the best animals on earth. Your poem reminded me of a book I read, called The Cat Who Went To Heaven. It is wonderful and sad at the same time.
