I'm Sorry
by Eric Carrillo (Age: 28)
copyright 08-06-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

"I'm sorry, will you please forgive me?"
Perhaps, I've heard that plead time and time again.
A second chance? Such a hard thing to grant, and yet so painful not to.
It's a thorn, a dagger, a flaming sword, that burns deep within my bosom!
"I'm sorry, will you please forgive me?"
Oh such pain, such anguish, such misery, do I dare forgive you?
A second chance is worth so much, and yet it hurts so much not to.
A second chance, I dare not give!
It's a cliff I dare not dive off!
It's an unfamiliar lake, which depths I know not.
I'd gladly grant such priceless privilege with the knowledge that the path with you will not grow dim with sorrow once more...

Eric,
I think forgiveness has to start within. I agree with Billy, Forgiveness not granted is the worst punishment... especially if you cannot forgive yourself. Great write!

It's scary to say the least, like diving into unknown waters like you said. But like Robert said... IF given and forsaken a second time... NEVER again! I think that's when they started calling me a fool. *grin*

*sigh*... but on the other hand... Jesus said seventy times seven times... (NOTE: NOT In the case of abuse however. Jesus also said to cherish and respect life!)

*side thought*... It must be nice to be perfect. :)

Very well written, almost classical in structure. Great theme too!
