Her Name Was Sarrie
by Penny Coberly
copyright 05-02-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Little Sarrie Bomoth was sitting in her chair.
Breathing in her oxygen while Mommy brushed her hair.

"Someday" she told Mommy,"I won't be sitting here.
I'll be sitting on Jesus lap as he holds me near.

Very soon, I'm going to be with him in Heaven."
That made Mommy cry because Sarrie was only seven.

"Oh Sarrie" said her Mommy, "I believe you will be healed! I trust in Jesus. My prayers will be fulfilled."

"Don't be upset Mommy, when your wishes don't come true.
I'm not here to be healed. I'm here to help heal you."

Mommy looked at Sarrie with questions in her eyes.
"my prayers will be answered honey. Your not gonna die."

Mommy stood in silence as she readied Sarrie for bed.
She cried inside, "Oh Father! Please dry these tears I shed!"

Sarrie hugged her Mommy. "Mommy don't cry for me.
Soon your heart will be healed. Just you wait and see!"

Mommy tucked the covers up.
Kissed Sarrie on her head.
"I love you darlin Sarrie. With all my heart." she said.

"Mommy, before I go to sleep, there are important promises I'd like you to keep.

There's a blind boy, Bobby, who lives in Tennessee. Make sure he gets my eyes so he'll be able to see.

Suzie, she lives in Cleveland. Her kidneys are real bad. Make sure she gets mine Mommy.
Mommy don't be sad.

There's one more little boy. His name is Drew.
He doesn't have a Mommy.
He's waiting patiently for you.

Love him like you love me.
He will heal your heart.
You'll find him at the orphanage, pulling a red cart."

Jesus came for Sarrie in the middle of the night.
Bobby got her eyes that gave him perfect sight.

Suzie got her kidneys.
Now she plays and jumps.
Drew is sitting on Mommy's lap, while she kisses his boyhood bumps.

Because of one little girl and the love in her heart she carried.
Mommy tells the story of her precious daughter, Sarrie.
