Great Grandpa's Visit From Beyond

He knelt beside her grave site,
with tears streaming from his eyes,
She formed the beacon of light,
where the empty darkness now lies.

Heavy burden taking its toll,
he sought solace from above.
Sending up prayers from his soul,
seeking his Father's lasting love.

For the first time in his life,
he asked his Father, " Why?"
Why he took his loving wife,
and left his lonely heart to cry.

Warm breath fell upon his ear,
as God whispered his reply.
Grandma's angel did appear,
a lovely vision from the sky.


Her tender loving arms were veiled,
with angel babies from above.
Beautiful image his eyes beheld,
as she showered them with love.

God helped Grandpa understand,
answering his prayer that night.
He saw what God had planned,
and why Grandma had taken flight

A warm smile replaced his tears,
as he bid his final good-bye.
He thanked God for all their years,
as he watched her take to the sky.
