Doubt

By John Conrad
August,2001

In my mind, only I am
In my body, only I feel
In my life, only I am

How do I explain the pain?
How do I explore the possibilities?
How do I expedite the truth?

When do we ask for relief?
When do we say?
When do we know?

Haven’t we cried enough?
Haven’t we tried enough?
Haven’t we done enough?

Don’t you care?
Don’t you love?
Don’t you swear?
Don’t you?

Can’t we fix it?
Can’t we live it?
Can’t we?

Heh, I could have sworn I left a message here yesterday... but it's not here. It's ok, twenty four hours later and the same questions linger unanswered... Can't we fix it, Can't we? I've heard that there is NO problem that can't be fixed, and no question that can't be answered... but they haven't been in my shoes I guess. Either that, or they're a LOT smarter than I. Robert F. once contemplated what hell was. I think part of the definition is being married to your best friend, but wanting out... loving them, but not being in love... never wanting to hurt them, but having to. *sigh*
