When raising a child, you just never know what may come out of the "mouths of babes." So one morning when my daughter and I were in the kitchen making our favorite breakfast, banana pancakes with lots of dripping syrup, she asked "how did I feel about carrying her in my stomach."
My face lit up. I had written a poem for her that took me through from beginning to end, all that I felt about my pregnancy and birth and called "Beginnings." We ran upstairs to the back closet to pull out my "treasure box" and got out her poem. The total joy on my daughters face said it all as I watched her read her special poem.
BEGINNINGS
A world of silence...
A fluid motion...
A random warning...
A note of wonder...
A confirmed statement...
A treasure to behold...
A butterflies' flutter...
A wondrous movement...
A patience growth...
A moment of pain...
An anticipated await...
Inside circles of pain...
A tear for joy...
A look of wonderment...
A Gift of Life...
BEGINNINGS!!!
