Mother mother wipe my forehead
let my memory be
in the glory of the garden
by a tall chestnut tree

Like the wind that echoes
place for all to see
a prayer to the God
that sets my spirit free

Weeping is for children
none of this for me
just a bush of roses
planted by the tree

Mother hold me close
let the last day be
a honor to our friendship
set next to me until I'm free

When I have gone to heaven
listen for me
I will talk to you
in the wind in the tree

Mother mother wipe my forehead
say a short prayer with me
as God takes my spirit
at last from pain I will be free.

Walt: As I read this moving piece I pictured a Civil War mother having found her son on the battlefield. It mattered not if his uniform was blue or gray. The rose is a fitting flower. You created a masterpiece. Thank You! Dale

This is markedly different than the works of yours, with which I've become familiar. Is still you, a talented and gifted visionary that allows private glimpses into your world, but different.

This is a eulogy that any of us could be proud to have authored.

I think, for once, you truly have me at a loss for words

Frank :)
