To My Best Friend
by Christine Berthiaume
copyright 05-17-2003

Age Rating: 1 to 127

You've taken someone broken and bruised,
Giving a new heart, a desire to be used.
Your love and goodness can flow out of me,
Cause you're in my heart for people to see.

Desiring that they would only see you,
Not any weakness or sad thing I do.
To bring honor to you in all parts of my life,
Working with excellence, without any strife.

All of these done with your strength and grace,
Wherever I go, no matter what place.
That I would show people that you love them too,
You bring healing and peace so they can start new.

You've paid the price for all of our sins,
A free gift accepted which everyone wins.
Confess with the mouth and beleive in the heart,
Two things to be done, so a new life will start.

The start of a friendship that never will end,
Someone on which they can always depend.
Learning and talking with you every day,
And reading the bible to see what you say.

Direction and purpose for life is perceived,
Wisdom and strength with favour received.
To do all the things that you have prepared,
Ending in heaven, all because you have cared.

Christine, this is a fantastic poem, and I only see one tiny flaw..3rd stanza, 1st line..the word 'you're' should be 'your'.
