# You are You #

I'm sick of everybody,
Writing to complain,
About life or looks,whatever,
You're driving me insane.

Life can only be good,
If part of it is bad,
Sometimes you'll be happy,
And sometimes you'll be sad...

What you see in the mirror,
Shape, sizes and colours too,
What on Earth that looks like,
It makes you...you!!!

I admire how you have managed to so succinctly express the ideas in this poem.

Its clarity gets the message across on first reading which proves that not all good poems need to be obscure or difficult to comprehend.

I do think you could tweak this to improve the meter without driving it into the realm of greeting card jingle. The ideas alone would keep it out of that genre. For instance I would suggest making 'And sometimes' just 'Sometimes' and end the previous line with a semi-colon. (All hail the powers of punctuation.)

Thanks for this.

"Life can only be good, if part of it is bad." I guess you are refering to the addage that if you want pleasure you must know pain. To know good you must have a feeling for what is bad. This is a good idea. Thanks, Anthony

That's really cool! Your right too, people should be happy with the way their life is unless they have some life threatening disease or something horrible like that. They're still alive, they, as far as I know, have clothing, food and a roof over their heads. What have hey really got to complain about?!

Good Read! Everyone has to write about sadness sometime! But happiness is a definite change! ha-ha

Eugenia: Lovely little poem: good meter, good flow, and good message. Moses
