No More Lies

No More Lies

When I first Laid eyes
on my true love,
He was spending time with another,
But the moment we met, we both knew,
we were destiny for each other.

The woman he was with
wanted to marry him too,
and she had begun her plight,
and she was not going to give,
him up, to me, without a fight.

She was rich in money
and her family was high in power,
She was buying his time,
and his companionship.
Every minute, every second, every hour.

What she did not understand,
and what she could not see,
Is that although he was with her,
His heart and his mind
were always with me.

We spent many days together,
this man and I,
we had a very strong bond.
We were no longer two people,
but we had become as one.

All of his thoughts and desires,
were centered on us,
but she began to interfere,
And He and I,..
we began to fuss.

Slowly he was drifting to her,
tossed and daily turned,
she had talked him into
working for her family business,
as later I would learn.

I became unhappy,
and not much fun,
I pushed him away.
I screamed at him.
I would shout.

"I cannot live like this,"
"I do not love you any more,"
"please, would you just get out!"

But to his unknowing,
these were not my true feelings,
these were only a part,
Because deep down inside of me,
I loved him with all of my heart!

He even asked me to marry him,
but my pride stood in my way,
and I could not see,
the awesome price,
that I would eventually pay.

So sadly he stood on Saturday past,
taking the other woman
in holy marriage,
while I was on my bathroom floor,
with his only child,
I miscarried!

His marriage ended one month later,
as we could not stay apart,
and though she had his wedding band,
I always had his heart.

Now as I finally tell him,
all my truths,
He is sitting in a chair,
And I am stand in front of him,
with empty loins to bare.

He caresses me,
with both his hands,
around my waist,
a very gentle embrace.
Then, he lays his head
against my empty womb,
and the tears roll down his face.

I hold him right back,
with loving hands,
I caress him
and ease his pain,
I stroke his head,
and ask him, to forgive me,
for being so vain.

Slowly, I bend down,
and kiss away
the tear drops from his eyes,
and whisper softly in his ear,
I promise you my darling,
there will be no more lies.

though she had his wedding band,
I always had his heart.

Life has a way of coming and smacking us upside the head at times, doesn't it? *Ducks*... but it missed this time... or did it?

WOW! This was an excellent poem. I just loved the story-line nature it had which dragged the reader forward wanting to know what happened next.
Bravo!

Wow, you've incorporated so much into this -- and so neatly, Sharon!
Great story, and I love happy endings....well done!
