Harmonious Integrity
by Laryalee Fraser (Age: 68)
copyright 08-11-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

With thirsty nudge, a leafing bud debuts
and tastes a raindrop's trickle. Robins' throats
hold tremors of their meal as morning strews
the grass with dewy invitation notes.
On forest floors the speckled moss is rife
with mini-multitudes; their tiny beats
exalt the past, imprint a trail for life
to come. This nuanced harmony repeats
in thriving echelons through ocean beds
where plankton float and silver shadows dart
with fins aswirl. On finely compassed threads
each quiver palpitates the central heart;
each wisp of breath incorporates a pause
of jubilant devotion to the cause.

I can smell the musky earth, and feel the damp forrest ground beneath my feet.

After reading this I closed my eyes,
I watched intently at the images it inspired,
I felt the soroundings with my mind,
I touched the images that stayed inside.

Great poem!

Lary,

As usual, your work is a mastery of form. Your inner ear moves the thoughts precisely from beginning to end, as you move effortlessly from one scene to another, weaving them into a beautiful quilt of understanding.

Cudos, kiddo. Heehee... Seriously, it's beautiful.
