Chibi-Usa is a young girl with pink hair put into a unique style of buns that resemble rabbit ears and is teased because of it. Chibi-Usa (Small Lady) is the future daughter of Usagi and Mamoru that came back from the 30th century to be with them during the 20th century (present day). This is so that she can find Sailor Moon and the Silver Crystal, which she lost in the future, and bring it back to the future to help save Neo-Queen Serenity, her mother. Usagi constantly fights with Chibi-Usa and dislikes her because she is so close to Mamoru. Chibi-Usa's affections for Mamo-chan come into conflict because she does not identify Usagi and Mamoru as being her parents at first, although she knows they are. The trouble lies in the different personalities of Usagi and Neo-Queen Serenity and those of Mamoru and King Endymion.
Near the end of Sailor Moon R, Chibi-Usa becomes Black Lady through a corruption of power as Wise Man leads her to believe that no one loves her, not even her parents. She is returned to her normal self when Neo-Queen Serenity reasons with her and makes her remember all the good times they had, and not the half-truths Wise Man led her to believe. When she realizes how loved she was, Black Lady becomes healed and returns to being little Chibi-Usa. This produces the Silver Crystal of the future that was sealed inside of her, which she thought she had lost. This crystal manifests her power as a Sailor Senshi. With Small Lady and Neo-Queen Serenity's combined Silver Crystals, they are able to restore peace to Crystal Tokyo and awaken Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion.
From then on in the series, Chibi-Usa is in training to become a true Sailor Senshi by learning from Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Senshi in their 20th century battles. Chibi-Usa does make trips back home to 30th century Crystal Tokyo, but they are usually brief, much to Usagi's chagrin.
During the series, Chibi-Usa gains many friends in 20th century Tokyo. For instance, Momoko Momohara (Momo-chan), a girl with brown, and later purple, hair in a bun, is Chibi-Usa's best friend from elementary school. Another classmate is her friend Kyusuke Sarashina, a boy with green, spiky hair who secretly admires Chibi-Usa.
Chibi-Usa also gains many companions as a Sailor Senshi. For example, later, Chibi-Usa's guardian kitten, Diana, who is the future daughter of Luna and Artemis, also comes from the 30th century to the 20th to protect her. Also, in the SuperS series, a winged unicorn named Pegasus appears to Chibi-Usa in her dreams and in the Stallion Reeve he presents to her. They become close to one another as Pegasus helps Chibi-Usa with her daily problems in life and at being a better Sailor Senshi, and transforming and making attacks for battle. Later, Chibi-Usa discovers that Pegasus' true form is a young boy named Helios who is priest of Elysion. As such, she falls in love with him (even sharing a kiss or two!), though Helios has been falling in love with Chibi-Usa all along as Pegasus. By the end of the series, Helios is freed from his prison-like state from Queen Nehelenia and returns to his homeland of Elysion, but they make a pact to meet each other again. How romantic! In the SuperS movie, Chibi-Usa makes friends with a fairy named Perle (Peruru), but who she meets as a boy with a magical flute. Later, Perle joins Sailor Chibi Moon and the other Sailor Senshi in the battle against Queen Badiane (Queen Badiyanu), even saving Chibi-Usa. Queen Badiane is eventually defeated and Perle must leave to continue protecting the Sugar Energy from children's dreams. Upon leaving, he tells her that he will always be with her and gives Chibi-Usa his flute as a remembrance. Looks like Chibi-Usa has her choice of potential suitors!
