On a cold and cloudy day
a final battle made its way.
Brave-hearted men stood lined with pride,
all together side by side.
The British soldiers on the left,
Americans on the right.
With heads held high, they stood to fight.
Two flags were raised into the air
for all to see, for all to stare.
One of red and white and blue,
and of surrender one stood too.
The battle had not yet begun,
and yet the war was finally won.
And on this day, a freedom passed
through every patriotic soul,
a freedom that would always last,
an accomplished life-long goal.
