Retired businessman, art gallery owner, teacher, traveler, artist, strong interest in anime and animation art.
******
It was recommended the other day that I offer a slightly more expansive biography. It is my pleasure to do so.
I was born in Brownsville, Texas. My father, being a diplomat with Pan American Airways, required the family to travel throughout Central America.I've lived in every Central American country except Costa Rica.
I was raised in the Canal Zone of Panama, Republic of Panama. Both sets of grandparents ended up there during construction days and retired from there.
I've trekked the jungles, sailed at least one sea, have traveled by plane and train, boat and ship, automobile and on foot to some of the most memorable, to me, places in the world.
My undergraduate degree was offered by the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado.A major in Theatre Arts and a minor in English along with being the only commercial artist kept me occupied until we left for grad work at Southern Illinois University.
I've been married twice.Once on paper, and once by mutual consent.I have only the one son.
I am a qualified oils conservator, a certified English teacher, a professional picture framer, a past president of the Heritage Fine Arts Guild in Littleton, Colorado.I have held board positions with different organizations as president, vice-president, and treasurer.
While attending university, I was offered and took, a fellowship with the Audio-Visual department as their Artist and Photographer.I held that fellowship until I took my degree and entered a PhD terminal program at the University of Southern Illinois, Carbondale, Illinois. While there, I held two fellowship positions; one with their learning resources center as an animation consultant, the other as a personal assistant to the resident playwright, Mordecai Gorelik.
I have some works in copyright, have taught courses to artists and gallery owners on framing, picture frame restoration, color theory, the business of selling artworks and working with an agent.
I am a self-apprenticed oils conservator
and was regularly honored with my name mention in the Englewood, Colorado newspaper.
Before moving to Florida, I had lived in Colorado for about 35 years.I've been here for about 9.Two years or so in Miami Beach while employed at the Coconut Grove Gallery and here, for about 7 years--doing different things.
I've hiked the mountains, been wilderness camping, swum in both oceans--Atlantic and Pacific--was caught in the tail end of a hurricane while crossing the Caribbean by tuna boat from Panama to Puerto Rico, have watched a manta ray give live birth to 5 little rays on the beach in Galveston, Texas, have lived through blizzards, snow storms, rain storms, freezing cold and sweltering heat.
I've seen huge waterfalls, double rainbows, cavernous craters, fossilized remains of plants and critters, walked the rim of maybe extinct volcanoes, and so much more.
I have always enjoyed writing and painting and teaching.
I hope that the reader who suggested that my biography be expanded, doesn't now regret his suggestion.
Above all else, I am a teacher.
I HAD ENTERED A PLACE THAT WE ALL HATE--A CAVERN FILLED WITH MEANINGLESS SOUNDS AND WHISPERS AND FAINTLY SEEN IMAGES WHICH REFUSED TO LET ME BANISH THEM. THOSE OF YOU WHO WERE KIND ENOUGH TO SEND ME GOOD WISHES, I THANK FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

I've placed one toe-tip back into this preferred land, out of that cavern. The things that haunted, like unwelcome visitors in the night, are known by now to have had no meaning, no value, but still, they had rooted themselves around my soul and didn't want to go.But they must leave, they have neither place nor reason to live within my heart any longer. I think the dream is almost ended.
