Tetractys

The poetry form, Tetractys, consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10
syllables (total of 20). Tetractys can be written with more than one verse,
but must follow suit with an inverted syllable count. Tetractys can also be
reversed and written 10, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Double Tetractys:

1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 10, 4, 3, 2, 1

Triple Tetractys:

1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 10, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 10

And so on.

The tetractys could be Britain's answer
to the haiku. Its challenge is to express a complete thought, profound or comic, witty.

Snowflakes

White
snowflakes
crystal clear
sparkling loftily
daybreaks light shines forth the brilliance

As daybreaks light dusks the hillcrest ledge edge
sunshine melts around
clear glitter
snowflakes
white

When completed with first set of five lines use reverse and the bottom five lines after turning pattern upside down will make a perfect triangle.

Thank you for sharing this. I find it very informative and totally descriptive of the poetry form "tetractys". It is a unique form and I have read some examples in poetry books, and your aricle did a lot to clarify how it is written.
This is a god study and a challenge to write later, hopefully with success.

This one I felt was hard also. Ill write a few more before deciding if I would keep them up or not. Reminds me of a cross of Naani,Cinquain,Haiku,etc...... if you know what I mean. Thank all of you for reading and commenting.
